CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO CONDUCT A RISK ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOP A RISK POLICY
Closing date 6 May 2021
Women’s International Peace Centre (The Peace Centre) formerly Isis-Women’s International Cross-Cultural Exchange (Isis–WICCE) is a feminist organisation with 28 years of experience working with partners across 15 conflict and post-conflict African countries to ignite women’s leadership, amplify their voices and deepen their impact in recreating peace. Our WEAVE model intersects research (on women’s specific experiences and needs), evidence-based advocacy (to influence national, regional and international policy and practice), holistic healing (to enable women’s wellbeing and participation in peace processes), skills and movement building (to equip women’s human rights defenders with necessary skills, build networks and facilitate the exchange of strategies to advance women’s leadership for peace).
The Women’s International Peace Centre and development partners are conscious of the need to have women’s capacities strengthened and fully utilised. Women’s leadership brings unique value to peacebuilding through their new perspectives and models to leadership in post-conflict governance.
However, we realise that in peacebuilding work much as it is our strength may also be a risk to the organisation, partners and the target communities.
