Afya Ziwani is a PATH led USAID funded project covering Homa Bay, Kisumu, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira counties. The purpose of this project is to provide key clinical support to the Government of Kenya national HIV response with the overall goal of increasing access and coverage for HIV prevention, care and treatment services towards achieving the “90-90-90” targets.
PATH seeks to recruit two (2) Grants and Contracts Officers for Afya Ziwani project for a period of 6 months. The Grants and Contracts officers will manage a portfolio of sub-contracts and grants under contracts. Working under the project’s Director of Finance and Administration and the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC), the Officers will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of the respective Subawards, provide technical subcontracting advice to the project’s leadership and take a lead role in the sub-awards monitoring processes .
Experience in USG Assistance or Acquisition as well as grants management with an international NGO and working with Salesforce will be an added advantage
Experience working with Salesforce will be an added advantage.
Provide technical subcontracting advice to the project’s leadership.
Ensure full compliance with the sub-awards terms and conditions.
Take a lead role in the monitoring of the financial performance of the subcontractors and other implementing partners.
Continuously appraise the internal control environment of the subcontractors and ensure that weaknesses identified are addressed in time.
Carry out a thorough and timely review of the monthly financial reports of the subcontractors.
Process subcontractors’ disbursements through salesforce platform
Develop and execute subcontractor’s capacity building plans based on the capacity gaps identified during assessments and monitoring and track progress against capacity improvement indicators.
Work closely with the Director of Finance and administration as well as the Office of Grants and Contracts in ensuring that the subcontracts are up to date and any subsequent amendments are processed in time through salesforce.
Ensure that subcontractors deliverables schedules are regularly updated in salesforce.
ACCA finalist or CPA (K) qualification
Proficiency in MS Suite especially advanced excel.
Proven ability to manage a complex and diverse workload under tight deadlines.
Detail oriented; high degree of accuracy and strong analytical skills.
Excellent computer proficiency, particularly working with spreadsheets and databases.
Proven effectiveness working in a team under minimum supervision
Ability to interpret funding regulations and develop implementing procedures.
Ability to work independently with initiative to manage high volume workflow.
